Manchester United will commence their new Premier League campaign against Fulham on Friday.

United have conducted friendlies in Norway, Scotland, and the United States in anticipation of the forthcoming season. Additionally, they participated in the Community Shield at Wembley last weekend, where they faced off against Manchester City. After a disastrous 2023/24 league campaign, Rik ten Hag is under pressure to significantly improve the club’s fortunes this term. Sir Jim Ratcliffe has bolstered his squad during the summer window.

Joshua Zirkzee, Leny Yoro, Matthijs de Ligt, and Noussair Mazraoui have been recruited by United thus far; however, Yoro sustained a metatarsal fracture during the preseason and will not be able to return until October.

It is impossible for Ten Hag to select this team. De Ligt and Mazraoui would provide some balance; however, it is logical to only start one of them, given the fitness of Harry Maguire and Lisandro Martinez.

As long as United fails to sign a new player, Casemiro and Kobbie Mainoo must serve as the midfield duo. Amad and Alejandro Garnacho are the in-form wingers who deserve to be given the opportunity to start, while Joshua Zirkzee is a striker and must be utilized at some point. United are fortunate that Bruno Fernandes consistently puts on a strong performance in any venue.
