Liverpool
Predicted lineup: Liverpool vs. Nottingham Forest Premier League match on Saturday
After the September international break, Liverpool will play their second game in front of a home crowd this Saturday, September 9, against Nottingham Forest.
The Reds have won all three of their Premier League games under the former Feyenoord manager, including a 3-0 win over Manchester United in their most recent game. They will be looking to keep their perfect record when Forest comes to Merseyside.
Slot won’t want to make any changes to the team that beat Manchester United two weeks ago because things are going so well for them. He is worried about a few players’ health, though. For example, midfielder Harvey Elliott broke his foot while playing for his country.
This is how Liverpool could play against Forest.
Picked Liverpool team for the game against Nottingham Forest (4-2-3-1)
GK: Alisson – Another clean sheet for Brazil while playing for his country, making it three for the year 2024–25. Even in games where his defense was strong, Alisson has still made some very important saves.
Running back: Trent Alexander-Arnold Lee Carsley played the Liverpool defender in his natural spot for England in their recent 2-0 win over Finland. He began his life under Slot feeling good about himself.
CB: Ibrahima Konate—The center back was criticized for how he played against Italy during the international break, but so far he’s been perfect for Slot. Chris Wood, a forward for Forest, will test his strength on Saturday.
CB: Virgil van Dijk, Liverpool’s captain, has been a great example in the first few weeks of the season, even though there was talk about his future at the club. The Reds can’t let him leave for free next summer with the way he’s playing now.
Left Back: Andy Robertson – After being hurt a lot in 2023–24, Robertson has been healthy and on fire for Slot in the first few weeks of his rule. He hasn’t quite lived up to his high expectations yet, but he’s been good at defense for Liverpool.
DM: Alexis Mac Allister—Liverpool fans were scared when Mac Allister was taken out of the game against Chile because he was hurt during the international break. This midfielder from Argentina, on the other hand, came on as a replacement in the next game against Colombia and will play this weekend.
sent to Ryan Gravenberch – Since taking on the job of number six for both his club and his country, Gravenberch is off to a great start to the season. At the base of center, the Dutchman has been great with and without the ball.
RW: Mohamed Salah—The Egyptian dominated Manchester United once more before the international break, scoring a goal and setting up two others. He has been involved in six of Liverpool’s seven goals this season. He’s still the most important person.
DOMINIK SZOBOSZLAI – I AM Even though Szoboszlai doesn’t play as a standard number ten, he has had a good start to 2024–25 after having a rough end to his first season in England. This season, no Liverpool player has made more chances (83) than him.
This is Luis Diaz. Often, Diaz’s game lacks the end result. But, that has changed since the beginning of the new season. It came after a goal and an assist against Brentford. He scored twice against Manchester United.
DIOGOGJOTA: The Portuguese player seems to have locked down the ninth spot for now, ahead of Darwin Nunez and Cody Gakpo. Because he works hard and is smart, he is always a threat in the closing third.
