PSG midfielder Manuel Ugarte, who is a Manchester United transfer target, gave a vivid explanation why Kobbie Mainoo’s will be his dream midfield partner at Manchester United
Inching near to completing his summer transfer window move to Manchester United, PSG midfielder Manuel Ugarte will hope he can assist bring the best out of Kobbie Mainoo.
Although Manuel Ugarte seems destined to join Manchester United as their fifth summer acquisition, there are still doubts about whether he will be their final.
United said earlier this week that they did not see luring in another recruit outside of Ugarte’s arrival from Paris Saint-Germain, but sport changes fast, particularly in the last week of a transfer window.
Chelsea supposedly finds Jadon Sancho interesting, while United has started crude talks about Raheem Sterling, banished from Enzo Maresca’s plans. According to Manchester Evening News sources, a swap deal would only happen should Sancho talks over fall through fail.
United is probably going to see two more players depart before Friday’s transfer deadline as well. While Scott McTominay seems set for Napoli, Hannibal Mejbri is being tightly connected with Burnley.
United supporters know, or know, what to anticipate from McTominay and Hannibal in terms of playing style, same as they would from England international Sterling. Although both are grass-covering assets, the former is more precisely tuned than his rough-and- tumble buddy.
Other than their expectations of him being a level up from the aforementioned midfield combo, perhaps few people know what to expect from Ugarte. Last year, speaking with club media, the Paris Saint-Germain midfielder revealed some of his mental approach.
” Usually, I’m glad when I recover the ball,” he said. But as the drama unfolds, I begin to hope for something. I tell myself I should aim for it.
This shows an all-rounder of a midfielder who can provide Kobbie Mainoo more of a platform than Casemiro can. Last season, PSG manager Luis Enrique mostly assigned Ugarte as a defensive midfielder since regular game time grew less frequent as the campaign progressed.
He just made two substitute appearances in the Champions League knockouts for semi-finalists PSG and three starts in the last two months of the league season. Starting five group stage games and five of the first six league games contrasts this.
Erik ten Hag’s use of the Uruguayan, who began every match of his nation’s trip to the semi-finals of this summer’s Copa America, is still to be seen. At least, supporters will hope the £42.3 million acquisition improves those leaving Old Trafford.
