Pundit Chris Sutton verbally reveals the name of the Celtic best and most intelligent player after their win over Rangers with recent performances

Brendan Rodgers’ best players stepped up when he really needed them to, which is why Celtic won over the weekend.

Now that Celtic is six points ahead at the top of the Scottish Premiership, Rodgers is almost certain to win his third title in a row and change the story that has been told about the club for the past few months.

But that story was partly shot down when Celtic’s best players came back from illness. Cameron Carter-Vickers and Reo Hatate, two important players, have been out for most of the season. Their comeback has given Brendan Rodgers a huge boost.

Some Celtic players were out of sorts, though, and Chris Sutton said that one of them played so well that he is now sure that Rodgers has the best player.

After Celtic’s win over Rangers over the weekend, the former star player praised O’Riley after a fan said he was sure to leave in the summer.

Sutton told BBC 606 that Atletico Madrid wanted to sign him in the winter transfer window.

“But the whole point is that if you trade Matt O’Riley, you’ll need to get a better player to replace him.”

“The best player for Celtic.”

There shouldn’t be anyone who doesn’t agree with that. The way O’Riley played against Hearts was simply amazing.

On Saturday, O’Riley played in the middle of the field against Rangers after scoring the important first goal. He won a penalty and even helped out on defense as he led Rodgers’ team to within one point of winning the league.

I think a lot of Celtic fans think O’Riley will leave this summer. If he does, we will be happy for him to go because he has done so much great work at Celtic Park over the last three seasons.
