Rangers have reached an agreement to send Findlay Curtis on loan to Kilmarnock for the remainder of the season.
New Killie boss Neil McCann has been keen on a temporary move for the former Rangers winger since taking charge at Rugby Park, and talks have now concluded positively. Curtis remains one of the most highly-rated young talents at Ibrox, but opportunities have been limited this season under both Russell Martin and Danny Rohl.
The 19-year-old has featured 18 times in all competitions, though his involvement has largely come in brief spells, averaging just 27 minutes per appearance.
According to Rangers Review, the loan move will allow Curtis to gain regular first-team football and continue his development away from Glasgow.
Curtis has still made an impact when called upon. He scored in Rangers’ 2-0 Champions League qualifying win over Panathinaikos in July, netted a crucial equaliser against St Mirren in August, and impressed again in the Scottish Cup by assisting a goal during the 5-0 victory over Annan Athletic, where he played the full match.
However, the recent arrival of Andreas Skov Olsen from Wolfsburg has further complicated Curtis’ pathway to minutes. The Danish winger has joined on loan with an option to buy for £8.6m, giving Rohl every incentive to hand him significant game time for evaluation ahead of the summer.
Rangers’ transfer business is not expected to stop there. While Curtis and Lyall Cameron—now on loan at Aberdeen—are both set to return in the summer, several senior players could depart permanently before the window closes on 2 February.
The club are understood to be looking to move on Clinton Nsiala, Kieran Dowell and Joe Rothwell. Sheffield United have been linked with Rothwell, while Leicester City are reportedly monitoring Dowell’s situation. Nsiala’s future, however, remains unclear.
