Rangers boss Danny Röhl’s position on Nicolas Raskin’s potential move to Tottenham has now come to light

Danny Rohl is strongly opposed to losing Nicolas Raskin in January, even though there are suggestions Rangers could listen to bids for the midfielder.

Some reports claim the club might be tempted to cash in on Raskin to generate funds for reinforcements. However, as revealed on the latest Inside Track podcast, while Rohl understands the financial logic, he considers the Belgian a central figure in his plans and has no interest in weakening his squad mid-season.

Before Rohl’s arrival, Raskin admitted he wanted to feel “loved” by his manager, implying that wasn’t the case earlier in the campaign. His relationship with former boss Russell Martin deteriorated, but the midfielder has restored his place in the starting XI since Rohl took charge.

Football Insider reported on 16 November that Rangers expect offers for Raskin in January, though a summer transfer remains more realistic. Despite rising interest and the sizeable fee he could attract, Rohl is determined to block any exit during the season.

Speaking on the podcast, the stance was made clear: “Ideally, Rangers want to keep Nicolas Raskin in January. Danny Rohl does too — he’s been vital in recent games as Rangers collected three Premiership wins. There was strong interest from Premier League and European clubs in the summer, and that hasn’t gone away.”
