Rangers close in on Andreas Skov Olsen as personal terms near agreement

Rangers are closing in on a major transfer coup after Andreas Skov Olsen moved closer to agreeing personal terms with the Ibrox club.

The 26-year-old Denmark international, who has earned 40 caps for his country, only joined Wolfsburg from Club Brugge for £12 million last year but has now emerged as a serious target for the Light Blues. Reports over the weekend linked Olsen with a move to Glasgow as Danny Rohl strengthens his squad for a Premiership title push.

According to the Rangers Review, talks have progressed rapidly, with positive discussions over the last 24 hours leaving the club close to finalising a deal. The winger is understood to be keen on the switch, which would represent a significant statement signing.

Olsen had previously been tracked by Rangers during Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s tenure in 2022 and was also on the club’s radar under former manager Steven Gerrard. While Wolfsburg retain the final say, with Olsen contracted until 2029, all indications suggest the move could be approved.

Celtic manager Martin O’Neill recently revealed that Wolfsburg had targeted Daizen Maeda in the summer, and Olsen’s potential departure could see the German side revive that interest.

Rangers have already secured the signing of Tochi Chukwuani from Sturm Graz and are expected to confirm the arrival of Tuur Rommens imminently.
