Lyall Cameron is not injured, despite his absence from recent matchday squads. The midfielder wasn’t listed among the substitutes in the win over Hibs last midweek or in Sunday’s semi-final loss to Celtic, sparking speculation among fans that he might be sidelined with a knock.
However, manager Danny Röhl has clarified that this isn’t the case. Cameron, who recently returned from an injury, was an unused substitute in the draws against Falkirk and Dundee United before featuring for the final nine minutes against Kilmarnock. Since then, he has remained on the sidelines for the last two matches.
Earlier in the season, Cameron saw more playing time under Russell Martin, though not always as a starter.
Speaking at his press conference, Röhl explained:
“It’s always about how many players you can take and which positions you need to double up on, depending on what might happen in the game. Sometimes it’s tough for certain players, but it was purely a selection decision.
I always choose my squad for the next match, not for the next four weeks. There are a lot of games coming up, and I’ll have to make new decisions again tomorrow.”
