Rangers’ fate hangs in the balance as Danny Rohl delivers a blunt 13-word warning

Danny Rohl Pinpoints What’s Missing from Rangers Ahead of January Transfer Window

Rangers manager Danny Rohl has admitted he knows exactly what his squad is lacking after a frustrating 0-0 home draw with Falkirk, just ahead of the January transfer window.

Speaking after the match, Rohl sent a clear message to his players, acknowledging that his squad needs reinforcements.

“The group we have at the moment, it’s my job and my responsibility to bring the best out of them,” he said.
“You see too many ups and downs. With some players, you feel they are making a step forward, but in the next game, they take a step back. We are not consistently at our highest point.”

The result ended a bright start to Rohl’s tenure at Ibrox, his fifth Premiership game in charge.

Rangers struggled to break down Falkirk, with goalkeeper Scott Bain making a stunning one-handed save from Djeidi Gassama during a counter-attack, though he was otherwise largely untested.

The Bairns had several chances of their own and fully deserved their second point of the season against the Light Blues.

Rohl admitted the team’s inconsistency has been a problem.

“We have too much of a rollercoaster. The job when I arrived was about finding a way to win games. This is our first draw. We are disappointed with this performance, but for me, it’s only week six or seven,” he said.

The 36-year-old manager made it clear that changes could be coming in the January transfer window.

“I have a clear picture of what we are missing at the moment,” he stated, hinting at upgrades in key areas of the squad as Rangers fall seven points behind Celtic.

Potential Targets in January

Off the field, Rangers are expected to fill the void left by Patrick Stewart and Kevin Thelwell, with reports suggesting Chief Financial Officer James Taylor could step into the CEO role.

On the pitch, Rohl is keen to strengthen midfield and attacking options. Reports indicate that winger Galymzhan Kenzhebek, 22, is a target; the forward is also attracting interest from Dundee United, Aberdeen, and several continental clubs due to his direct style and goal instincts.

Another player reportedly on Rangers’ radar is David Watson, a 20-year-old midfielder out of contract at Kilmarnock next summer, likely to draw significant interest in the January window.
