Rangers forced to delete announcement after supporters react angrily

Rangers sparked frustration among supporters after an announcement promoting a stadium tour with Lee McCulloch was swiftly deleted following heavy backlash.

The club had initially revealed that McCulloch would accompany fans on an exclusive behind-the-scenes experience at Ibrox Stadium. The tour promised access to the dressing rooms, a walk down the famous tunnel and stories about club icons such as Walter Smith, Ally McCoist and Barry Ferguson. Supporters were also told they would get the chance to take a photo with a former Gers captain.

However, the promotional post did not go down well with fans. Many were still demanding answers from the club after the chaotic scenes that followed the recent Scottish Cup clash with Celtic at Ibrox.

Following the defeat on penalties, clashes involving supporters, stewards and police overshadowed the match, while parts of the stadium were damaged. Reports suggested that the destruction could run into hundreds of thousands of pounds.

With tensions still high, supporters felt the club should have been addressing the fallout from the incident rather than promoting commercial activities at the stadium. As criticism mounted online, Rangers’ social media team quietly removed the post.

For many fans, the priority remains a clear statement from the club about the events that unfolded after the Scottish Cup tie, rather than promotional announcements.
