Rangers F.C. are determined to keep Emmanuel Fernandez at Ibrox this summer despite mounting interest from the Premier League.
Clubs including Arsenal F.C. have been linked with the 24-year-old after an impressive first campaign in the Scottish Premiership. Fernandez has featured 22 times in all competitions and has flourished under head coach Danny Rohl, prompting Rangers to make it clear they have no intention of entertaining offers.
Speaking on Football Insider’s Transfer Insider podcast, it was revealed that Rangers view Fernandez as central to their short-term plans, with the potential to become a major future asset if his development continues at its current pace.
Rangers stance on Fernandez future
Fernandez has quickly established himself as a key figure in the title race, forming a solid partnership at centre-back with John Souttar, who recently committed his future to the club until 2027.
Rohl is understood to be delighted with the defender’s progress since arriving from Peterborough last summer, with the German coach helping elevate his performances to a new level. Comfortable in possession and composed under pressure, Fernandez has drawn admiring glances from south of the border — but Rangers are not budging.
According to reports, it would take an extraordinary bid from the Premier League for the Ibrox hierarchy to even consider parting ways with the centre-back. For now, the message is clear: Fernandez remains a cornerstone of the project in Glasgow, and the club intend to build around him rather than cash in.
With his debut season still unfolding, Rangers believe the best is yet to come — and they want that progress to continue in blue.
