Real Madrid Midfielder Jude Bellingham makes a sneaky hint about Birmingham City potential return

Birmingham City fans have been thrilled by the club’s £3 billion stadium plans, and one of their most celebrated former players couldn’t hide his excitement. The Championship side unveiled stunning images of the new arena, featuring striking chimneys that set it apart from anything previously seen. Real Madrid and England star Jude Bellingham appeared in the promotional video, asking, “When’s it going to be ready?” just as the newly named Birmingham City Powerhouse Stadium was revealed, boasting 12 towering chimneys.

Designer David Manica explained the inspiration behind the 62,000-seater: “Chairman Tom Wagner wanted it to be four-sided, bold, and distinctive. We also needed entry points, ventilation, and elevators, so we combined these elements with the roof supports to make them meaningful.”

One presenter spoke to local schoolchildren about the design, noting, “This style reflects the many historic brickworks in Birmingham, all with magnificent chimneys. That’s what inspired these towers. The stadium is so tall it will be visible from 40 miles away—it will be the beating heart of the city.”

Celebrity reactions were quick: Paul Anderson, famous for Peaky Blinders, simply said, “Holy f***,” while NFL legend Tom Brady promised, “NFL games will come soon after [the 2030 opening], and the world’s biggest music stars will be here too.”

Wagner highlighted the stadium’s fan-focused design: “Compared to other arenas, it had to be steeper, louder, and closer. All four stands hug the pitch, ensuring there isn’t a bad seat in the house. The height isn’t just for show—engineers advised we needed tall structures to support the roof safely.”
