Jude Bellingham gave a moving speech after the Champions League final, in which Real Madrid beat Borussia Dortmund.

Real Madrid won a record 15th Champions League title in London thanks to the great play of the player from Stourbridge.

Later, he said, “I was fine until I saw my parents’ faces.” There are nights when they can be home by seven, and they’re taking trips at eleven and twelve to take me to football games.

“And my little brother there who I’m trying to be a role model for, yeah, I can’t put into words, it’s the best night of my life.”

Bellingham’s amazing first season comes to an end. He came from Borussia Dortmund for £88.5 million in the summer.

Bellingham did say there was still room for growth, though, like a true winner: “I believe it’s among the best seasons.

Although we didn’t win the Copa del Rey, there are always many more years to try again. This is beyond my wildest dreams.

“My team mates, the staff, my family, the team behind the team, the physios… this is a massive group effort, I just can’t believe it.”

After this short break, Bellingham will join the England team again before the European Championships this summer in Germany.

The first game of Gareth Southgate’s team’s Euro 2016 schedule is on June 16 against Serbia in Gelsenkirchen. They then play Denmark and Slovenia.
