“really good players – Manchester United player Lisandro Martinez gives his own verdict on Matthijs de Ligt and Noussair Mazraoui after Man United completed their siignings
On Tuesday evening, Manchester United enhanced their defensive capabilities by recruiting Matthijs de Ligt and Noussair Mazraoui.
Lisandro Martinez has expressed his “ecstatic” anticipation regarding Manchester United’s recent acquisitions of Matthijs de Ligt and Noussair Mazraoui.
Both Bayern Munich players completed their transfers to Old Trafford on Tuesday. Mazraoui has pledged his future to the club until 2028, and De Ligt has penned a contract that extends until 2029.
In the wake of Aaron Wan-Bissaka’s transfer to West Ham United and the injury to Leny Yoro, both players have substantially enhanced United’s defensive capabilities.
Martinez, who joined United two years ago, played alongside Mazraoui at Ajax and arrived at the Dutch club just weeks before De Ligt joined Juventus in 2019, thereby acquiring a wealth of knowledge about both players. Additionally, he is certain that both players will complement Erik ten Hag’s manner of play, referring to them as “special.”
Martinez expressed his enthusiasm for Matthijs and Noussair to BBC Sport. “We are present to provide assistance to them, and they are exceptional players. This is the reason Manchester United acquired them, and they will demonstrate their abilities promptly. They possess exceptional qualities, enjoy playing football, and are especially well-suited to our methodology.”
“I think Matthijs will give us a strong personality, playing from the back, defending high, I can’t wait to play with him.”
