Danny Rohl has named his Rangers starting XI for this evening’s Scottish Premiership clash against Hibernian at Ibrox.
With rivals Celtic currently struggling under new head coach Wilfried Nancy, Rohl may sense an opportunity to apply pressure at the top of the table—provided his side can find consistency in the weeks ahead. Rangers’ 2-1 defeat away to Ferencváros in the Europa League earlier this week did little to alter expectations, with Rohl already acknowledging that his squad is falling short on the European stage this season.
However, the manager did take positives from that match, highlighting the recent improvement of Emmanuel Fernandez and Nasser Djiga. Tonight’s visitors, Hibernian, arrive having won three and lost two of their last five league outings and will begin the contest as underdogs.
Rohl will be eager to avoid a repeat of Rangers’ previous home league fixture, which ended in a frustrating 0-0 draw with Falkirk. Dropping points at Ibrox again would be damaging if Rangers are to maintain any realistic title ambitions. Hibs currently sit fifth in the table, just one place and two points behind the hosts.
Jack Butland starts in goal for Rangers, while Rohl opts for a back five consisting of Max Aarons, Dujon Sterling, Nasser Djiga, Emmanuel Fernandez and Jayden Meghoma. In midfield, Connor Barron and Mohamed Diomande anchor the side, with Mikey Moore and Findlay Curtis supporting striker Youssef Chermiti in attack.
Rohl has several options available if changes are required during the match, including Nicolas Raskin and Danilo from the bench.
