Newcastle United
Reason why Bruno Guimaraes was substituted by Lloyd Kelly during Newcastle United’s 2-1 win over Wolverhampton Wanderers
Bruno Guimaraes had a scare late in the game when he hobbled off during Newcastle United’s 2-1 win over Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Newcastle kept their perfect start to the season with goals in the second half from Fabian Schar and Harvey Barnes, canceling out Mario Lemina’s opener in the first half.
Bruno Guimaraes hasn’t lost a serious game as captain of The Magpies yet, but he couldn’t finish this one because he hurt himself near the end and Lloyd Kelly had to take his place. The Brazilian seemed happy at the end of the game, even though he had been hit. He was seen yelling “Vamos!” as he made his way to the locker room.
He then wrote on social media, “Victory for the team that never gives up!!!!” Always there for you, NUFC. Guys, let’s keep going! Wow, what a fight.
Newcastle only picked up one point from losing positions away from home in the Premier League last season. But in their first two away games of this season, they have picked up four points from losing situations.
With 10 points from their first four games, the Magpies are off to the best start in the Premier League since the 1995–96 season, when they finished second. Newcastle could be in first place in the Premier League for a short time if they beat Fulham on Saturday at 3 p.m.
