Reason why Cristiano Ronaldo was extremely angry during Al-Nassr 1-1 draw match against Al-Raed

The bad start to Cristiano Ronaldo’s 2024–25 season kept going on Thursday night, when Al-Raed held Al-Nassr to a 1–1 draw.

This year, Al-Nassr, led by Luis Castro, wants to win the Saudi Pro League (SPL). They came in second place in 2023–24 and are very hopeful.

They had a rough start last weekend when rivals Al-Hilal beat them 4-1 in the Saudi Super Cup final. Ronaldo scored the first goal, but the SPL winners scored four more in the second half to win.

Al-Nassr’s first game in the league was at home on Thursday against Al-Raed. Al-Raed ended 12th in the SPL last season, 45 points behind Ronaldo and his team.

Castro’s team had some of their usual star players on the field, including Sadio Mane, Alex Telles, Otavio, Marcelo Brozovic, and Aymeric Laporte, winner of Euro 2024.

At the start, they played well. Ronaldo gave the home team the lead with an amazing header from Sadio Mane’s cross. The 39-year-old jumped off the ground and slammed the ball home.

It was the star Portuguese player’s third goal in three games this season. He also scored in Al-Nassr’s 2-0 win over Al-Taawon in the third round of the Saudi Super Cup.

Ronaldo celebrated his great finish and speed with his usual SIU move, and the forward looked really pumped up after putting his team ahead.

Unfortunately, Al-Nassr couldn’t score a second goal even though they had 70% of the ball and forced 31 shots.

Then things went badly when Al-Raed’s Mohammed Fouzair scored from the penalty spot early in the second half, making Ronaldo very angry.

An even bigger source of anger came from the fact that his goal was called off because Ronaldo was too far ahead of the play, according to VAR.

Then, deep into stoppage time in the second half, Al-Nassr’s penalty for handball was turned down, even though the judge was watching the play on a monitor next to the field. Al-Raed held on for a memorable point.

He is also angry because he stormed out of the Prince Sultan bin Abdul Aziz Stadium last week without claiming his silver medal after Al-Nassr lost 4-1 to Al-Hilal.

The 39-year-old player showed his rage again during the game by yelling at many of his teammates as the four goals in the second half went in.

Even though he is still frustrated, Ronaldo scored in the first half on Thursday, giving him 60 goals in 66 games for Al-Nassr. The 39-year-old also won the SPL Golden Boot last season with 35 goals.

Ronaldo needs to get off to a good start in the season because he didn’t score at Euro 2024 and had a terrible game as Portugal lost to France in the quarterfinals.

Ronaldo and Al-Nassr will play again on Tuesday when they go to Al-Feiha for their second league game of the season.
