Reason why Cristiano Ronaldo was furiously angry with his teammate and storms down the tunnel without collecting his silver medal after Al-Nassr defeat in the Saudi Super Cup final
After the Saudi Super Cup final on Saturday, Cristiano Ronaldo stormed out of the Prince Sultan bin Abdul Aziz Stadium without getting his silver medal. His team, Al-Nassr, lost 4-1.
The 39-year-old player had been hoping to win his second title since moving to Saudi Arabia in January 2023. The first was the Arab Club Champions Cup, which he won last year.
Ronaldo got his first goal of the season in Al-Nassr’s 2-0 win over Al-Taawoun in the Super Cup semi-final on Wednesday. He scored again just before halftime to put Al-Nassr ahead 1-0 in the final on Saturday.
Last season, Al-Hilal won the Saudi Pro League without losing a single game. In the second half, they scored four goals, two of which were scored by Aleksandar Mitrovic, a former Fulham striker.
Although goals kept going in, captain Ronaldo didn’t seem very interested.
Ronaldo said that Al-Hilal’s fourth goal was caused by some really bad play by his teammates.
Goalkeeper Bento lost the ball to Malcom on the edge of the six-yard box after a bad attempt to play out from the back. Ronaldo then stood in the middle circle, put his hands together, and told his teammates that they had been “sleeping.”
The players from Al-Nassr were given medals after the game because they came in second place in the four-team competition.
Ronaldo, who used to play for Real Madrid and Manchester United, didn’t want to get his, though, so he left the stadium without it.
So far, Ronaldo’s time at Al-Nassr has been a mixed bag.

His ability for scoring is very good. He has scored 66 goals in 72 games for Riyadh, and he won the Saudi Pro League Golden Boot award last year.
However, Al-Nassr finished five points behind winners Al-Ittihad in Ronaldo’s first season, even though they were in first place before he arrived, and they also finished 14 points behind Al-Hilal in 2023–24.
During his time in Saudi Arabia, Ronaldo has also been annoyed by the way fans of other teams have treated him.
During most of Al-Nassr’s away games last season, Ronaldo was made fun of by fans who were chanting the name of his big foe Lionel Messi.
The final on Saturday, which was played at a neutral site, was no different.
Al-Nassr’s new Saudi Pro League season starts on Thursday, when they host Al-Raed.
This season, Ronaldo and his team will also play in the King Cup and the Champions League Elite.
There is a lot more competition in Saudi Arabia now than there was before Ronaldo went there 19 months ago.
Neymar, Sadio Mane, Riyad Mahrez, Marcelo Brozovic, and Aymeric Laporte are just a few of the famous players who have left Europe for the Arab Gulf state after the Portuguese star.
The Public Investment Fund of Saudi Arabia owns Al-Nassr, Al-Hilal, Al-Ahli, and Al-Ittihad, as well as Newcastle United in the English Premier League. This fund has been behind most of the big-money moves.
