Reason why Cristiano Ronaldo was given a yellow card during Georgia vs Portugal match (2-0) in the Euro 2024
It made Cristiano Ronaldo very angry that he wasn’t given a penalty and then got a yellow card during Portugal’s Euro 2024 game against Georgia on Wednesday.
Ronaldo yelled for a penalty when he tried to get on the end of a cross in the Georgia box 28 minutes into the Group F match in Gelsenkirchen. Ronaldo was taken down by Luka Lochoshvili, which meant that they missed the chance to score. This made Ronaldo very angry.
Ronaldo asked for VAR to look into what happened and was quickly given a yellow card for his protests. Only two minutes into the game, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia scored the first goal, putting Portugal behind 1-0.
Portugal is already sure of a spot in the round of 16 at Euro 2024 because they won their group and all three games. Europe’s teams will play either Hungary or Slovenia in Frankfurt on July 1.
