Reason why Donald Trump’s “Genocide Ambush” accusations of South Africa’s President Failed during a meeting at the former’s Oval Office in the White House, Washington DC

The world watched live on a variety of multimedia platforms and channels on Wednesday, May 21, 2025, as the President of the United States, Donald J. Trump, mounts a fierce, false, and unsuccessful claim of “genocide” by the majority Black, indigenous people against the White, minority communities of farmers and farm owners. This claim was made by the majority Black, indigenous people. As a result of the radical and racially polarising impact, the majority of owners, inheritors, allies, and international sympathisers, as well as far-right activists and a confederacy of ideological soulmates of the apartheid and post-apartheid period, sometimes refer to their misleading drumbeat of divisive distortion as “White genocide.” This type of genocide is committed by Black Africans and some non-European people in South Africa.

As a result, the clumsy efforts and awkward incident that occurred at the Oval Office during Trump’s meeting with Cyril Ramaphosa, the charming President of South Africa, were an example of another type of “mission impossible.”

He had the intention of ambushing Ramaphosa, a business magnate who was known for his friendly and articulate demeanour, and destroying his credibility. It was a miss! He appeared to be petulant and unwilling to listen to advise that was based on facts.

To be sure, there are deep, heated, and contentious hardlines and positions held by all sides, particularly by the dispossessed Black Africans who continue to protest that it is a gross injustice and a continuation of the political economy, subjugation, and dominance that occurred during the apartheid era that Whites, who make up only 7.20 percent of the population of the resource-rich South Africa, will keep 73% of the choice, farmlands of the country that Nelson Mandela led to a multi-racial democracy in 1994. When the attacks on primarily white farmers had begun, he declared to the people of Bothaville (and by extension to the entire country) that South Africans should address “the complex problem of crime on our farms, as elsewhere, demands long-term solutions.” He made this statement during his presidency.

The first time I visited South Africa was in March of 1998, when I was a member of the team that was led by former President Bill Clinton. The President at the time was Nelson Mandela. South Africa was the first country that President Clinton of the United States visited in March of 1998. His goal was to strengthen the mutually beneficial relationship that existed between the two nations, notably in the fields of commerce and economic growth. He would be perplexed as to what the heck was going on when Trump requested that the light be turned down so that he could play video snippets of a South African activist named Malema, who is affiliated with the EFF party. His orations are really extreme.

It is also essential to take into consideration the fact that in February of 2025, a court in South Africa declared that allegations of white genocide were “not real” and “clearly imagined.”

Without a shadow of a doubt, there are instances of criminal activity and banditry attacks carried out by certain gangs against certain White Afrikaner farmers and farmlands. In the event that those are elevated to the status of genocides, a great number of critical and reasonable students of history as well as victims of genocides will revolt and convulse! When it comes to the facts and realities of what is going on in South Africa’s ongoing struggle for empowerment and access to the lands of their ancestors and heritage, Trump is completely out of his element.

However, as the unflappable Ramaphosa said to President Trump in a civilised manner, South Africa is a multiparty democracy in which individuals are able to voice their opinions. On June 1, 2022, Ramaphosa nominated Vincent Magwenya to serve as his spokesperson. Magwenya was more forthright than his predecessor. During an interview with ABCNews, he stated that “there is no evidence of what is being claimed here (by Trump’s White House).” A highly sophisticated intelligence collection infrastructure is in place in the United States. It is now possible for me to tell you that if the members of your intelligence community were ready to come forward and talk, they would tell you that the information that is being spread here is absolutely untrue.

The White House issued a statement after the meeting with the title “President Trump is Right About What’s Happening in South Africa.” The statement was sent just a few minutes after the “White genocide” disaster that occurred in the Oval Office.

Genocide is significantly closer to the philosophies of hate and destruction of ethnic, religious and social groupings.

Somehow, they are trying clumsily to seize the high ground of the persistent and lingering troubles which the apartheid overlords and masters of injustices did to the Blacks!

It would appear that the members of Trump’s PR team and foot soldiers have not yet come to terms with the absurdity of the unsuccessful and discredited ambush that he attempted.
