Because Erik ten Hag thinks “it’s a game for him,” Marcus Rashford has been brought back to start for Manchester United against Liverpool.

Thursday night, United lost 4–3 to Chelsea at Stamford Bridge. They need to bounce back from that loss by playing better against Liverpool.

Before the break, Ten Hag’s team beat Liverpool in the FA Cup quarterfinals in a game that will be known for years to come. That win gives people hope that another good result is possible, but it seems like Liverpool will be determined to get payback.

There were two changes to the starting eleven after the game against Chelsea. Willy Kambwala and Rashford came in for Raphael Varane and Antony, respectively.

That’s the kind of game you always hope for in a season: Manchester United vs. Liverpool,” Ten Hag told MUTV before the game on Sunday.

“Our anger [after Chelsea] will give us strength.” Of course, we’re mad about the last few minutes of the game. We should have done a lot better at the last minute than what we did.

“But now you can’t change it, but you can change what will happen.” Again, there is a link, and we have a strong bond with our fans. It helped us win last time, and we need to do it again today.

Ten Hag was asked about his team decision and said, “We have options. We could have brought a midfielder down to play center back, but Willy [Kambwala] is doing great. He has shown many times that he can do the job, and now is his chance.”

“So far, I haven’t picked him very often because we have five center backs, but they need to step up. This is his chance, we trust him, and he needs to do his job.”

“Rashy didn’t start on Thursday because we only have a short time and need to divide up the games.” Our front guys have to do a lot for us.

“Antony did a great job; he gave everything and worked hard physically. Today Rashford needs to do the same, especially since that game is against Liverpool.” He’s one of our stars, so that’s his game. He should make a big difference today.

Varane and Scott McTominay are both hurt and can’t play for the team.
