Eddie Howe, the manager of Newcastle United, talked about how Fabian Schar’s new injury will affect the team.
Newcastle United back-up It looks like Fabian Schar will not be able to play for Newcastle when they play Burnley next weekend.
The Swiss player almost got taken off in the first half against Sheffield United, but he made it clear he wanted to keep playing. But Eddie Howe told him to leave after the break.
What the Newcastle manager said after the game: “Fabian’s hamstring was a little tight.” It sounds like he just pulled his hamstring, but we don’t think it’s a serious injury. It was enough to make him feel bad, though. He had to leave because he couldn’t fully run.
“In the first half, we were going to make the change, but he said he was fine and wanted to keep playing.” It was clear by halftime that he couldn’t, so that’s when we changed things.
Tino Livramento is also a possible injury risk. He walked slowly out of St. James’ Park after carefully healing from an ankle injury. “Tino will be better for today,” Howe thought. He told me he was ready to play after our meeting yesterday. He said he was fine. I backed him, and I thought he did a great job for us.
If Miguel Almiron, Joelinton, and Kieran Trippier can get better in the week before the Turf Moor game, that would be great for Howe.
