Reason why San Siro has so many empty seats for Liverpool vs AC Milan Champions League clash this tuesday
When Liverpool plays AC Milan tonight at San Siro, there will likely be a lot of empty places.
Tonight, Liverpool plays AC Milan in the Champions League, but there are hundreds of empty seats at the game. The Reds’ first game in the league phase is at San Siro, a place where they haven’t lost in 59 years.
Arne Slot’s team lost to Nottingham Forest 1-0 on Saturday, which was their first loss of the season. Before the international break, they won their first three games. They will now be looking to get back on track as they get ready to return to Europe’s top club tournament after a year away.
As for Milan, Paulo Fonseca’s team beat Venezia 4-0 over the weekend to get their first win of the season. After losing their first three games, Milan got off to a great start with a dominating win at San Siro. Tammy Abraham, a former Chelsea player, scored two of the goals.
Why are seats at the San Siro empty?
Some people were unhappy before the game against Venezia, and that anger showed up in ticket sales for the match against Liverpool. There were 71,273 fans at Saturday’s Serie A game, but there will likely be a lot fewer at Tuesday’s Champions League game because fans are planning a “fan protest” over ticket prices.
The main reason why there won’t be as many people at San Siro for the game against Liverpool is that tickets are more expensive than they are for league games. The least expensive ticket costs €74 (£62), and the most expensive ticket in the lower levels costs €124 (£104.50). The most expensive standard adult seat at Liverpool in the Champions League this season costs £61.
Fans of Milan are going to protest against those prices, and hundreds of seats at San Siro are going to be empty. That’s not good news for either the club or the Champions League. This match looked like it would be a big deal from the start, since both teams have won the competition before.
What did AC Milan say?
Before the game, Fonseca said, “The support of the fans is always very important to us.” It was important when we got to the stadium on Saturday, both before and after the game. Having the backing of the fans is very important. “We must feel their love,” Milannews said.
“I think wins make fans and players feel better about their own self-worth.” After beating Venezia, the game will be different. I thought we were getting better before the game, but wins make us feel better.”
