Referee panel of seven delivers judgment on the key decisions from Rangers vs Celtic’s League Cup clash.

No fewer than seven former FIFA referees have shared their expert opinions on the officiating controversy that dominated Sunday’s dramatic Premier Sports Cup semi-final between Rangers and Celtic.

Ex-SFA referee Bobby Madden revealed on social media that he consulted several of his former colleagues for their verdicts on the major flashpoints from the Hampden clash.

Madden, who previously stated that Thelo Aasgaard’s red card for a high challenge on Anthony Ralston was justified, also insisted that Auston Trusty should have been sent off for his reckless kick on Jack Butland. He further backed the penalty awarded to Celtic and the lack of a yellow card for Ralston.

According to Madden, the poll of seven ex-FIFA officials fully agreed with his assessments — except for one incident which divided opinion.
