Fabrizio Romano Shares Update on Brendan Rodgers’ Celtic Future as Premier League Interest Emerges

Transfer insider Fabrizio Romano has revealed that several clubs are showing interest in Brendan Rodgers, with the Celtic boss potentially being targeted as a future managerial option.

Rodgers returned to Celtic Park in June 2023 on a three-year contract, which is due to expire in the summer of 2026. The Northern Irishman has repeatedly stated his intention to see out his deal, having left the Hoops midway through the 2018–19 season to join Leicester City.

Despite his assurances, Rodgers has also admitted in recent interviews that there have been no discussions yet about extending his current contract with the Scottish champions.

Speaking to GiveMeSport, Romano confirmed that while Celtic are determined to keep their manager, outside interest is growing.

Renowned Italian football reporter Fabrizio Romano has offered fresh insight into Brendan Rodgers’ future at Celtic based on new information he’s received.

“There are clubs interested in Rodgers, so an exit in summer 2026 is a possibility — but not a guarantee yet. Celtic will try their best to keep him,” Romano explained.

The Italian journalist added that Rodgers’ success since returning to Glasgow — including multiple domestic trophies — has strengthened his reputation, making him one of the most sought-after managers in British football.

Potential Premier League Suitors

According to talkSPORT, up to four Premier League clubs could be in the market for new managers in the near future — and Rodgers’ name is already being linked with several.

Among them are Crystal Palace, currently thriving under Oliver Glasner, who has been tipped as a possible future Manchester United target. Andoni Iraola has also impressed at Bournemouth, while Fulham’s Marco Silva is approaching the end of his contract next summer.

Meanwhile, Nottingham Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis is believed to be a long-time admirer of Rodgers and could enter the race should a managerial vacancy arise.

Although there is no indication that Rodgers is looking to move on soon, growing Premier League interest means Celtic may face a battle to keep hold of their most successful manager since Jock Stein and Willie Maley.
