Liverpool reportedly proposed to acquire a Newcastle player, age 26, last summer; however, he declined the offer.Reportedly, Liverpool submitted an offer to acquire Newcastle United midfielder Bruno Guimaraes during the summer, but the offer was declined.

For a considerable period of time, the 26-year-old Brazilian international has been linked with a transfer to Anfield; Liverpool was reportedly interested in signing Guimaraes during the transfer window earlier this year.Nevertheless, due to Guimaraes’ recent agreement of a new contract with the Magpies, any possibility of him joining Liverpool within the next two years is now remote. Moreover, as reported by Football Transfers, Liverpool attempted to acquire Guimaraes from Newcastle this summer, but the offer was rejected.Indeed, Liverpool would have been in awe-inspiring to acquire Guimaraes, considering the Newcastle midfielder’s stellar performance in the Premier League over the past two seasons.

However, after the Toons declined Liverpool’s offer for Guimaraes, it seems that the club’s aspiration to acquire the midfielder will be on pause for the time being.

Now, Liverpool may never have the opportunity to acquire Bruno Guimaraes.Liverpool was well aware that the previous summer, when Newcastle had not yet agreed to a new contract with the midfielder, would be their best opportunity to acquire Guimaraes.

Furthermore, the Magpies’ completion of the contract may give the Reds the impression that they are no longer viable options for acquiring Guimaraes in the future.

It is common knowledge that Newcastle are willing to pay up to £100 million for Guimaraes, but Liverpool will not accept that much for a 26-year-old player.

And Liverpool is aware that they can obtain greater value for their money by pursuing other targets besides Guimaraes, despite the fact that the Brazilian would be phenomenal.
