Revealed: Referees and VAR officials for Borussia Dortmund vs. Celtic UEFA Champions League match on tuesday
It has been revealed that the officials for Celtic’s highly anticipated match against Bundesliga giants Borussia Dortmund [Glasgow Times] will be in charge.
The Hoops are in Germany getting ready for their toughest game of the season so far.
So far this season, Brendan Rodgers’ team has been very strong. Not only have they won all six of their league games so far, they have also not given up any goals.
The Bhoys are also in the semi-finals of the Premier Sports Cup. They beat Slovan Bratislava 5-1 two weeks ago to get off to a great start in the UEFA Champions League.
The Celts will try to keep up their good run in Europe this evening and win their first game in Germany.
How well they do will be very important for any outcome, but the judges’ ability to avoid making any bad calls could be just as important. And the judge and VAR team for tonight’s game are mostly Spanish.
The game will be run by Jose Maria Sanchez, with help from Inigo Prierto and Jose Naranjo. It’s Guillermo Cuadra’s fourth professional duty.
Carlos del Cerro Grande is in charge of the VAR room, and Tiago Martins, a Portuguese man, is his helper.
Tonight at 8pm, the game starts at Signal Iduna Park.
Rodgers and his team want to make a statement in Europe. You can watch the game live on TNT Sports.
