Revealed what happened: Why Liverpool player is very angry with his coach Arne Slot following a “argument” that transpired prior to the Burnley match

Federico Chiesa was understandably disappointed to be excluded from Liverpool’s Champions League squad; however, Arne Slot was satisfied with the forward’s response.

Arne Slot has admitted that Federico Chiesa was dissatisfied upon learning that he would not be included in Liverpool’s Champions League roster.

The 27-year-old Italian forward, who scored the winning goal in the Reds’ 4-2 victory over Bournemouth on the opening day of the season last month, has had a promising start to the season.

Despite having appeared in all three Premier League games thus far this season, Chiesa will not be representing the league champions in Europe as a result of Slot’s decision.

Rio Ngumoha, an adolescent sensation, was selected by Liverpool’s manager for inclusion in his 23-man squad for the league phase of the competition, rather than Chiesa. The 17-year-old, who transferred from Chelsea to the Merseyside club last summer, is not yet eligible for a homegrown or ‘List B’ position.

Chiesa would have likely been included in the squad if the club had been able to sign Marc Guehi on deadline day. Giovanni Leoni, who is also ineligible for registration on Liverpool’s Under-21s list, would have been excluded instead.

Nevertheless, the Mirror reports that Slot’s decision to add an additional player to his defense was exacerbated by the fact that the deal for the Crystal Palace captain was unsuccessful.

Slot spoke about Chiesa’s reaction to his exclusion prior to their match against Burnley on Sunday, indicating that the forward, who has participated in 16 Champions League matches throughout his career, was dissatisfied with his inability to represent the club in Europe.

“Certainly, that is one of the most challenging tasks a manager must undertake,” he stated. “It is not always straightforward to inform a player that they are not playing, but it is always more challenging to inform them that they are not in the squad.”

“I have just explained to him the rationale behind our decision.” He was, of course, dissatisfied with that.

“I believe he comprehended my arguments; however, this does not imply that he concurred with them.” By the way, he did not inform me that he did not concur with them. But he gave me the answer you want to hear from a player, that he will be there to help the team in the cups and in the league.
