Kevin Campbell died at the age of 54. He was a star at Arsenal and Everton. It was reported earlier this month that Campbell was very sick and in the hospital with kidney failure.

Campbell started his impressive career at Arsenal and played for them for eight years. He was a big reason why they won the FA Cup, the League Cup, and the European Cup Winners’ Cup in 1994. They also won the First Division title in 1991. Campbell played 213 times for Arsenal and scored 59 goals.

Kevin Campbell’s son Tyrese Campbell, who plays for Stoke City, wrote on Instagram about his sadness: “I appreciate that many people loved my dad, and the outpouring of love has been some comfort for us as a family, so thank you for that at such a hard time.” This hurts so badly, and as a son, you think your dad is unbeatable.

“When I got older, I wanted to be like him (his idol).” He brought joy and happiness to every gathering and space he entered. He was one of a kind and truly loved by all. A truly unique person. Dear Dad, I will miss you. Now, I’d like to ask that you respect our family’s privacy as we grieve the loss of a wonderful father, brother, uncle, and person in general. I will always love you, Dad.

Another statement from Arsenal said, “We are heartbroken to hear that our former striker Kevin Campbell has died after a short illness.” The club members all loved Kevin. We are all thinking about his family and friends during this hard time. Take a deep breath, Kevin.

Tony Adams praised his old teammate, Kevin Byrne: “Super Kev: a goal machine, a giant of a man, with an even bigger heart.” A deeply private and truly wonderful person. It breaks my heart for his family and all of us. Skipper, I love you Super Kev.

He went to Nottingham Forest in 1995. He was on the team that was kicked out of the Premier League, but he helped the club get back to the top level by winning the First Division title in 1998.

“After that, Campbell played for Trabzonspor in Turkey for seven months before returning to the Premier League with Everton, first on loan and then permanently for £3 million in 1999.” Before ending his career at West Brom, he played 151 times for Everton and scored 39 goals.

“Everyone at Everton Football Club is deeply saddened to learn of the death of one of the Club’s most popular and much-loved former strikers, Kevin Campbell, at the age of 54,” the club said in a statement. Anyone who had the chance to meet Kevin would tell you that he was a great person and a real hero at Goodison Park. He was also the Blues’ first black captain.

“Every time Kevin came back to Merseyside, he was greeted with open arms, which was only fair.” Those who were lucky enough to know him will miss him dearly. He was a huge man and a great football player. At this very sad time, everyone at Everton is thinking of his family. We will, of course, pay our respects when the new season starts.
