“RIP”: Former Celtic FC coach loses his mom to death as 53-year-old manager confirms the news.
There was a “family emergency” on Saturday for Neil Lennon, who was named manager of the Romanian club Rapid Bucharest in May. He flew home. Since then, we know for sure that his mom died.
The death of Neil Lennon’s mother was announced this morning (Sunday, August 4) by the Glasgow club, where tributes are being held.
Rapid Bucharest hired Lennon as their manager in May. On Saturday, he had to fly home because of a “family emergency.”
Rapid said yesterday on the club’s website that Ursula Lennon, John Lennon’s mother, was in “very serious condition” after being in the hospital for a few weeks.
The famous Celtic person has now revealed that his mother has died. Lennon said in a short statement sent through Rapid Bucharest, “My beautiful mother, Ursula, died this morning at 10:51.”
The club replied with a message that said, “Our coach’s mother died this morning.” We are sorry for the Lennon family’s loss. During these tough times, we’re with our coach.
Ursula is thought to have had a second heart attack, and Lennon was given leave to go home.
