It said: “Rest in peace Mum, may Allah forgive you.” Since he broke the news, which was reported on X and other channels, Amad has been getting a lot of messages and condolences from sports fans.

But after rumors spread, the attacker went back on social media. He wrote in an X post, “Guys, I wanted to make things clear. She is the mother of my brother and my sister, but she is not my real mother.

“May she rest in peace.” United bought Amad from Atalanta in Italy in January 2021.

Soon after, the four-time Ivory Coast international made his debut for the club, playing a few minutes in a Europa League match against Real Sociedad. After that game, Amad talked to MUFC reporters about how close he is with his biological mother.

He said at the time, “It was all so hard to believe.” When I called my mom after my United start against Real Sociedad, she was crying and saying she couldn’t believe it.

He then said, “It was an amazing feeling for me because you only get to play at that level once in your life.” My mom was very proud of me.

“She was always sure I’d get to the top, but she told me to always be humble, work hard, and never give up.” So, when she saw me play for about eight minutes, it meant the world to her.

“We couldn’t believe it.” Amad has played 23 games for United in all competitions since his start. He has also spent time on loan with Rangers and then Sunderland in the Championship.
