Robbie Savage was left shocked by Chris Sutton’s latest verdict on Celtic.
The former striker has been vocal about his old club this season, criticising their struggles both on and off the pitch. Ahead of Celtic’s win over Kilmarnock, Sutton even warned Martin O’Neill that staying too long at the Hoops could put his legacy at risk. Now, Celtic sit seven points behind Hearts, despite having a game in hand.
While many still see Celtic as title favourites, Sutton’s latest claim challenges that notion. “Hearts are favourites,” he insisted.
Savage couldn’t believe it: “No, they’re not favourites. Don’t talk rubbish… They’re not favourites to win the league right now, Chris. Come on, you’re better than that.”
There’s still a chance for Celtic to turn things around, though. The two sides face off at Parkhead on Sunday, 7 December, with Celtic’s game in hand coming shortly after. Two victories from these fixtures could cut the gap to just one point and put real pressure on the Jambos.
