Rod Stewart discloses Peter Lawwell’s response to Nicolas Kuhn’s criticism.
After a difficult start to his life in Glasgow, Nicolas Kuhn is demonstrating that patience pays off by delivering electrifying performances for Celtic, which have silenced critics.
Rod Stewart, a Celtic fan who was initially sceptical, has now acknowledged that he was hasty in dismissing the German winger. However, he was persuaded by club chairman Peter Lawwell to “give him a chance.”
During the January transfer window, the 24-year-old joined Celtic at a time when Brendan Rodgers’ team was experiencing difficulty playing their finest football.
Kuhn initially encountered difficulty in adapting, as his subpar performance raised concerns regarding his ability to succeed at the club.
His difficulties were further exacerbated by dental complications that resulted in substantial weight loss and impaired his current physical state.
Stewart recalled expressing his apprehensions about Kuhn to Lawwell during an interview on talkSPORT: “Yeah, Kuhn has been a good signing.” I recall that he made a poor start. I recall expressing my opinion to Peter Lawwell, the chairman, that he would not be able to endure.
“And Peter said, ‘Give him a chance.'” He is currently experiencing severe discomfort as a result of the extraction of all of his back teeth. However, my God, has he succeeded?!
I am optimistic that we will be able to retain his services for an additional season. Kuhn has since evolved into one of Celtic’s most exceptional players, amassing significant assists and goals in both domestic and European competitions.
He has become an essential component of Rodgers’ system due to his creativity, acceleration, and capacity to penetrate defences.
Kuhn has transitioned from being a subject of scepticism among his supporters to becoming a beloved figure among his followers.
He has not only dispelled scepticism but also solidified his status as a critical contributor to the team’s success this season, as evidenced by his current performance.
Kuhn’s performances must attract attention from other sources as the January transfer window approaches; however, Celtic are not currently interested in selling the player.
