Rodgers, the Villa hero, expressed his admiration for the Celtic supporters, stating, “I have never seen an away end like that.”Morgan Rogers has never encountered an away support as robust as the one Celtic received at Villa Park on Wednesday evening.

Tickets for the match were issued to just over 2,000 supporters, and Rodgers made an effort to ruin their evening by scoring two goals within the first five minutes. Villa appeared to be in a comfortable position; however, Celtic remained resolute, and Adam Idah scored two goals in the final minutes of the first half to turn the match around.

I am fond of it; the more commotion the better for me, particularly when we are at odds. Despite the fact that our admirers were likely a bit more subdued than theirs, it is our responsibility to inspire them once more.

I placed that responsibility on myself, and we succeeded as a team. Villa regained the lead on the hour mark with a goal from Ollie Watkins. However, the game was still undecided until Rogers completed his hat-trick in the 90th minute. The 22-year-old, who was acquired from Middlesbrough for £8m a year ago, has now scored a total of 10 goals for the season.

Celtic will determine today whether they will compete against Real Madrid or Bayern Munich for a spot in the last 16 while Villa has a few spare midweeks in February.

Brendan Rodgers will face a significant challenge in guiding Celtic to the knockout stage, as either encounter will provide the Celtic support with a memorable journey.
