Rodri addresses Cristiano Ronaldo’s unjust Ballon d’Or assertion, and the Manchester City midfielder discloses his “surprise” at Vinicius Junior’s comment regarding the five-time Golden Ball recipient.
Rodri responds to Cristiano Ronaldo’s “unfair” Ballon d’Or claim, revealing his “surprise” at Vinicius Junior’s remark from the five-time Golden Ball winner.
Rodri, the star of Manchester City and Spain, has responded to Cristiano Ronaldo’s “unfair” remark regarding his Ballon d’Or victory in 2024.
What transpired? Five-time Golden Ball champion Ronaldo has suggested that Real Madrid forward Vinicius Junior was deprived of the title of greatest player on the planet after witnessing Rodri receive the honour while collecting another prestigious prize at the Globe Soccer Awards.
THE LARGER IMAGE City made history in 2024 by claiming their fourth consecutive Premier League title, and he also enjoyed European Championship glory with his nation, all thanks to his talismanic presence in Pep Guardiola’s plans at the Etihad Stadium.
Ronaldo has, however, stated that “Vinicius Jr should have won the Ballon d’Or; in my opinion, it was evident.” It was unjust. That is the reason I appreciate the Globe Soccer Awards; they are candid.
WHAT RODRI SAID Rodri expressed his astonishment at Ronaldo’s statement, stating to AS, “Well, it was a surprise, really, because he knows better than anyone how this award works and, above all, how the winner is chosen.”
This year, the journalists who vote have determined that I should be the winner. It is likely that these same journalists were the ones who voted for him to win it at some stage, and I suspect that he would have concurred.
What is the next step? Ronaldo’s support for Vinicius in the ongoing Ballon d’Or debate may be attributed to his affiliations with Real Madrid, where he is the club’s all-time leading goalscorer, and Manchester United, City’s arch-rivals.
However, Rodri’s success is irrevocable, and he will eternally be able to claim a place in the annals of football history.
