Ruben Amorim has reached an agreement to become the manager of Manchester United in

advance of the upcoming match against Leicester City. In principle, Ruben Amorim, the coach of Sporting, has consented to assume the role of Manchester United’s next manager. United and Sporting are currently in the process of negotiating a compensation settlement; however, Amorim has been persuaded to assume the role of Erik ten Hag’s permanent replacement. In response to Manchester City’s interest, United initiated communication with Sporting. In the event that Pep Guardiola decides to depart the club upon the expiration of his contract in the summer, Amorim was identified as the primary candidate to replace him. Nevertheless, United attempted to persuade Amorim that City will become a fading entity if Guardiola departs next year. Since 2016, City has secured six Premier League titles, two FA Cups, four League Cups, the Champions League, and the Club World Cup under Guardiola’s reign. Omar Berrada, the chief executive of United, departed from City earlier this year and has since reunited with Jason Wilcox, the technical director, at Old Trafford. Wilcox was previously a coach and academy director at City.

City’s Kevin De Bruyne and Ilkay Gundogan are set to expire their contracts next year, while Ederson, Kyle Walker, John Stones, and Bernardo Silva are in the final two years of their contracts.Amorim, 39, was interviewed by West Ham United earlier this year; however, the club ultimately selected Julen Lopetegui, a former coach of Sevilla and Wolves. Amorim has been the head coach of Sporting since 2020 and was instrumental in the club’s successful conclusion of its 19-year title drought in 2021. The United power brokers have determined that the Portuguese would require €10 million in compensation, a sum that is regarded acceptable in light of their concerns that they would be limited to free agents. It is still anticipated that Ruud van Nistelrooy will serve as the interim manager of United when Leicester City visits Old Trafford for the Carabao Cup on Wednesday night.
