Ryan Naderi to Rangers? New transfer update revealed

Rangers’ search for a new striker is gathering real momentum, with reports from Germany indicating the club have now made a formal offer for Hansa Rostock forward Ryan Naderi — a move that could shape Danilo’s future at Ibrox.

According to Sky Sports Germany reporter Ben Hacker and transfer insider Florian Plettenberg, Rangers have lodged a €3 million bid for the 22-year-old striker.

Discussions between the two clubs are said to be underway, and Naderi is believed to be open to a switch to Glasgow, which could help speed up progress if a transfer fee is agreed with the 3. Liga outfit.

The development comes as Rangers continue to reorganise their attacking options. Interest from the Netherlands in Danilo has surfaced, and the Brazilian forward’s time in Scotland has been disrupted by recurring injuries, casting doubt over his long-term role in the squad.

As a result, the pursuit of Naderi appears to be part of a broader succession strategy rather than simply adding depth.

Naderi would bring a different physical profile to the frontline. At 6ft 3in, he offers size and aerial ability, yet his performances this season also highlight mobility and involvement in build-up play.

He has registered eight goals and five assists in 17 third-tier appearances in Germany, demonstrating both scoring instincts and creativity.

Comfortable leading the line or playing slightly deeper as a support striker, his attributes suit the demands of the Scottish Premiership, where physical presence against compact defences is often crucial.

There is also a long-term angle to the potential deal. Naderi is contracted at Rostock until the summer of 2028, meaning any transfer would be viewed as an investment in future growth as well as immediate impact. At 22, he is approaching his prime years, giving Rangers the chance to develop a player who could grow in value.

However, competition for his signature is strong. Clubs including RB Salzburg, Mainz, Paderborn, Heidenheim and sides in Portugal have all been linked with interest.

If the move goes through, it would further cloud Danilo’s standing in the squad.

With Rangers already reviewing their striker department and outside attention on the Brazilian increasing, the addition of another centre-forward could push him down the pecking order — making a loan switch or permanent departure a more realistic outcome as the club look to rebalance their attacking options.
