Scottish association football manager Gordon Dalziel slams Celtic F.C. Captain Callum McGregor over recent performance with a strong message

Gordon Dalziel hasn’t been nice to Celtic captain Callum McGregor. He has said that the captain has been “a mile off it” so far this season.
The former Rangers striker, who now works as a commentator on Superscoreboard, thinks that McGregor hasn’t played as well in the middle of the field as he usually does. Dalziel says he hasn’t been even close to the level of control he is known for and setting the pace for Celtic in games.

“I believe McGregor is the biggest.” Everyone talks about how great McGregor is, and they’re not wrong. He’s ruled the Premiership and Celtic as a team. I disagree with him, though.

Celtic is still in first place in the league, six points ahead of Rangers, but their games haven’t been very good. There wasn’t a goal scored in the Ibrox match before the break. It was the most boring game we’ve seen in years, with slow, predictable buildup and not much creativity.

Even though Dalziel picked on McGregor, James McFadden saw the bigger picture. The former Scotland international said that the leader might not look like himself because the team is tired and not fully rested.

Since taking the armband from Scott Brown, McGregor has had to carry a huge load. He has been the core of this Celtic team and hasn’t had much time to rest. But the summer hires haven’t brought in any new players, so even the captain looks tired.

People who support McGregor will say that he has a lot of good credit. He has led the team through tough times before. But the fact that experts are even asking him shows how boring football has been lately.

On Sunday, Celtic will play Kilmarnock at Rugby Park in what looks like a very important game. People will always blame McGregor when the team slows down. He doesn’t need to be told this. This argument isn’t going away any time soon, even if he shuts Dalziel up.
