Rangers earned their first Scottish Premiership home victory of the season with a 3–1 win over Kilmarnock on Sunday.
Goals from Derek Cornelius, Danilo, and Youssef Chermiti lifted Danny Rohl’s side into fifth place, marking a positive response after a poor start that saw the club go winless in their opening five league fixtures.
The win at Ibrox highlighted early progress under Rohl, whose debut match ended in a 3–0 defeat to Brann.
Chermiti opened his account for the club with a late strike but drew criticism from former Rangers captain Barry Ferguson for his goal celebration, in which he mimicked a talking gesture toward critics.
Ferguson told the Go Radio Football Show that Chermiti should have celebrated with the supporters rather than responding to them. Celtic great Peter Grant also cautioned the striker, reminding him not to antagonize his own fans.
Despite the controversy, Chermiti’s goal could signal a turning point after joining for £8 million last summer. With Danilo thriving under Rohl, Rangers supporters will hope Chermiti builds confidence and contributes consistently in the coming weeks.
