Celtic fans hope that Brendan Rodgers will bring in more new players this summer. He has already brought in three new players.
Many people are very interested in Adam Idah’s future at Norwich City, and fans think he will join Paulo Bernardo, who was announced by Celtic this week.
To take the place of Joe Hart, Viljami Sinisalo and Kasper Schmeichel have been chosen. Rab Douglas, a former Celtic star, says that one of these two players will “thrive” in games against Rangers.
Celtic made a “great signing” when they signed Kasper Schmeichel.
When Douglas talked about how great it was to sign Schmeichel, who has already impressed Celtic fans, he said that the big Dane would be very important to the club’s success.
Douglas wrote in The Sunday Post (page 76): “Fans will also be looking forward to seeing Kasper Schmeichel play for the first time.” I believe he was a great addition and will be very reliable this season.
“It would take a very special person to replace Joe Hart, and Kasper met all the requirements.” He has played goalie for his country more than 100 times and is captain of that team.
“He has had a great career. With Leicester City, he won the league title and the FA Cup.” I played for Leicester City too, and it’s a great football team. When I went there, I got hurt a few times, but I still have good memories of my time there.
“Kasper was great for Leicester, and I’m sure he’ll be great for Celtic too.” Any team that wants to do well needs a good player between the pipes, and they have that in Kasper.

Celtic fans learned last season that wins over Rangers were very important in winning the league title and the Scottish Cup. The team had at least four games left to play Rangers.
When fans saw Joe Hart play, they knew they had a big-game player who could handle these situations. Douglas thinks Schmeichel will do well in the intense environment of the Glasgow Derby.
Further, Douglas said, “Brendan was smart to bring him in.” They both go to Leicester and know each other, so it’s clear that they trust and respect each other. That is significant.
“The back four guys will be thrilled to have Kasper behind them.” Knowing that he is there and is their goalie will give them a lot of peace of mind.
“He will love playing for this huge football club. He will also love playing in the Champions League again and the games against Rangers.”
“He’ll love it, and his fans will love him for it.” Like with Joe, it’s the start of a great bond. Celtic fans looked up to Joe as a hero. I think Kasper will become a star very quickly.
Celtic fans won’t have to wait long to see how Schmeichel does in the big game against our rivals, as the first Glasgow Derby game is on August 31.
The home field edge at Celtic Park will be very important for Rodgers’ team to get an early season win over the Ibrox club and get ahead of our rivals.
But for now, Kilmarnock is facing the Hoops. If they win, they will have two more points than Rangers and be ahead at the top of the league.
