Scottish Professional Football League officially release a new statement over Partick Thistle vs. Celtic Quarter-final match clash

The SPFL has disclosed the dates and kick-off times for two quarterfinals of the Premier Sports Cup.

Aberdeen vs Motherwell is scheduled for the afternoon of the following day at Pittodrie, following Kilmarnock vs St Mirren on Friday, September 19.

Nevertheless, the four other teams in the quarter-finals – Rangers, Celtic, Partick Thistle, and Hibs – will have to wait for their precise kick-off time and date.

The SPFL has announced that the details will be disclosed following the league phase lotteries for the Champions League, Europa League, and Europa Conference League at the conclusion of August.

Celtic are certain that they will play Partick Thistle away on either the Saturday or Sunday, and the game will be broadcast live on Premier Sports.

The statement issued by the SPFL is as follows: “The SPFL has today provided an update on the Premier Sports Cup quarter-finals, following the draw for the last eight of the competition on Saturday evening.”

“The semi-finals on the weekend of November 1/2 are at stake, and all four matches will be broadcast live on Premier Sports or the Premier Player over the weekend of September 19-21.” The 2025/26 Premier Sports Cup final is scheduled for Sunday, December 14.

The first quarter-final will be played on Friday, September 19, at the BBSP Stadium in Rugby Park, where 2012 winners Kilmarnock will face 2013 victors St Mirren. The meeting between Aberdeen and Motherwell at Pittodrie has been confirmed for Saturday, September 20, with a kick-off time of 3:00 p.m.

“The remaining quarter-finals, which will feature Partick Thistle versus Celtic and Rangers versus Hibernian, will be disclosed subsequent to the UEFA competition league phase draws at the conclusion of August.”

“The broadcast arrangements for all four ties will be finalized following the UEFA draws.”

What is the date of the Champions division division phase draw?
Celtic will advance to the league phase draw if they defeat Kairat Almaty in the Champions League play-off second leg on Tuesday night.

The Grimaldi Forum in Monaco will host the draw on Thursday, August 28. Subsequently, the SPFL will specify the date and time of the Partick Thistle match.

In the interim, Celtic will play against Livingston this Saturday in an effort to defend their undefeated domestic competition record this season.
