Longstaff was instrumental in Newcastle United’s 1-0 victory over Arsenal at St James’ Park. Following their midweek victory over Chelsea in the Carabao Cup, Longstaff was able to maintain his position in the starting lineup. Bruno Guimaraes was reinstated to the starting lineup against the Gunners, while Sandro Tonali was removed from the midfield that began the victory over the Blues.Longstaff was one of Newcastle United’s standout performers as they secured a well-deserved three points against Mikel Arteta’s team, playing on the right side of a three-man defence alongside Guimaraes and Joe Willock. Newcastle’s most recent victory in the league was their first since their victory over Wolves in September, which culminated in a five-game period without a victory, and included consecutive losses.
After a challenging period in the league, the Magpies have made a great comeback by defeating Chelsea and Arsenal within a week. However, Longstaff is determined that the team does not become complacent after a positive few days. “I believe that the sole factor that fosters confidence is the manner in which one approaches their work and their training on a daily basis.” Longstaff stated. “You are the sole individual capable of instilling confidence in yourself.” I believe it would be the most expensive beverage in the world if it were possible to consume a single dose. So, as I previously stated, I believe that the team is always present. I believe that the pressure and the pleasure of playing for Newcastle when they are successful are the reasons. It is an incredible experience. And when a few negative outcomes occur, it is time to disassemble the entire operation and recruit a new team of players and staff. “I believe that for us, you maintain a consistent level of equilibrium.” We have won two games, as we did against Arsenal; however, this does not imply that we are suddenly a strong team again. We will be required to persist in our efforts, and as a result, we will receive genuine accolades. In the Premier League table, Newcastle United closed the day with a mere three points separating them from the Gunners. Their next match is against the high-flying Nottingham Forest.
