SFA names referee and VAR officials for Hearts’ Rangers fixture

After ending an 11-year wait for a victory at Ibrox earlier in the campaign, Hearts now welcome Rangers to Tynecastle as they chase a first home win over their rivals since 2020.

Danny Rohl’s side remain unbeaten in the league since his appointment and currently occupy third place in the table, sitting nine points behind leaders managed by Derek McInnes, with a game still in hand.

Victory on home soil would significantly boost their title ambitions, while a positive outcome for Hearts would further ease the pressure as the season progresses.

The Scottish FA has confirmed the match officials for the fixture, with Nick Walsh appointed as referee.

He will be assisted by Daniel McFarlane and Calum Spence, while Grant Irvine will oversee VAR duties alongside assistant Calum Scott.

Walsh has officiated just one Hearts match so far this season — their opening-day win over Aberdeen — a game in which five yellow cards were shown.

Hearts players Craig Halkett, Frankie Kent and Cammy Devlin were booked, along with two Aberdeen players.
