Keane commented on Rice’s involvement in the goal, stating, “He is muscled out of it, and you are hoping for a little assistance from your teammates, but he lacks it.”

“It is a long ball that is not a great header. In this instance, you may believe that he (Rice) should knock it first, but once he loses it, it is too late.” Simons deserves recognition for his superb strike.

Ten minutes later, England responded when Harry Kane converted an extremely controversial penalty against Denzel Dumfries. Kane had kicked the sole of the defender’s foot while shooting at goal.

“The greatest threat to England is that they are currently in control, and as Lee (Dixon) indicated, Gareth will be quite at ease.” However, it is impossible to unwind in this game. You are unable to relax, as the Dutch are persevering; however, they do have an objective in mind.

“Don’t beat yourselves England.”
