Southampton ace poised for exit as Premier League sides line up summer move

Southampton star attracting major interest as summer exit looms

Southampton’s dramatic comeback win over Leicester showed the spirit inside the squad — but it may not be enough to keep one of their key players beyond this season.

After falling 3–0 behind, Saints produced a stunning late turnaround with goals from Jack Stephens, Ryan Manning and Shea Charles sealing an unforgettable victory. Assistant Tonda Eckert admitted the night felt “crazy,” revealing his half-time focus was less on tactics and more on calming emotions as the game threatened to spiral.

The result keeps Southampton in the mix near the Championship play-off places, but their push for promotion now runs alongside growing transfer noise.

According to Sky Germany reporter Florian Plettenberg, midfielder Caspar Jander is attracting serious interest ahead of the summer window. The 22-year-old is said to be ready for the next step in his career, with Premier League clubs monitoring the situation while European sides including Ajax, RB Leipzig and Stuttgart are also keen.

Southampton reportedly value Jander between €15–25 million (£13–22m). Having only arrived last summer, his rapid rise has caught attention quickly — a testament to his influence in midfield despite his age.

If Saints fall short of promotion, holding onto emerging talents like Jander could become even more difficult. For now, though, the focus remains on the pitch — where resilience like the Leicester comeback may yet define their season.
