Spanish professional footballer Juan Mata gave his reasons to Manchester United why they should ensure they sign 26-year-old RB Leipzig player Dani Olmo

The most recent transfer news and opinions from Manchester United, who are rumored to be among several teams that are interested in the Spanish midfielder this summer.

Dani Olmo has been the subject of much discussion since the European Championships, and there is ongoing speculation regarding his future.

According to reports, Manchester United is among the clubs that are reportedly interested in the Spanish midfielder, who possessed a €60 million (£50m) release clause in his contract. Although that agreement has since expired, it has been reported that his team, RB Leipzig, has established their asking price at a comparable level.

Juan Mata, a former midfielder, could potentially persuade United to make a move, despite the fact that they are one of several clubs that are linked. The midfielder, who has won three trophies during his seven-and-a-half-year tenure at Old Trafford, serves as a mentor to Olmo.

In 2020, Mata and Olmo conducted a joint interview with The Guardian in which Mata praised him. “I am proud of Dani and have a great deal of optimism for him, as he is currently at a high level, has already been selected for the national team, and is a player I enjoy watching,” he stated.

“As evidenced by his performance at Old Trafford, it is exceedingly challenging to oppose him. He is a comprehensive player who possesses vision, assists, scores, and combines effectively.” And I am confident that he has not yet attained his ceiling.

Olmo has also become a member of Mata’s Common Goal charity. The objective is to leverage the influence of football to effect social change and enhance the quality of life for individuals.

However, the similarities between the two do not conclude there. Olmo has emulated Mata’s accomplishments in the national team by becoming one of the select few players to win the Euros with both the U21 and senior teams of Spain.

The Spanish midfielder is ten years younger than Mata; however, a transfer to United would occur at nearly the same age as Mata’s arrival at Old Trafford from Chelsea. Olmo turned 26 two months ago, and he concluded a transfer to United in January 2014 at the age of 25, three months before his 26th birthday.

United will be anticipating that the players’ careers will continue to exhibit similarities. Mata established himself as a fan favorite at the club, appearing in 285 matches in the team’s colors before departing in 2022.

The presence of Mata as a mentor and role model can only be beneficial for United in their pursuit of a transfer. Additionally, their success in that contest is a positive indicator.
