Alexander Isak continues to be Liverpool’s primary objective in anticipation of their forthcoming match at St. James’ Park.
Alexander Isak will not be available for Newcastle United’s match against Liverpool tonight due to ongoing speculation regarding his destiny at St James’ Park. The Swedish international has not played a single game for the Magpies since May, and there has been considerable speculation that he may be considering a transfer to Merseyside.
The transfer saga of the summer was further complicated by the publication of two bombshell statements last week, one by the player and the other by the club. This saga is expected to persist until the deadline on Monday. Liverpool’s interest in the striker has been extensively documented throughout the summer; however, they have submitted only one proposal.
Liverpool’s offer of £110m was promptly rebuffed by the Magpies, as it fell significantly short of their assessment of the striker. Newcastle United have maintained their stance that Isak is not for sale this summer, despite his inability to be selected against Aston Villa on the opening day of the season and again tonight.
Alexander Isak transfer update is omitted by Fabrizio Romano.
Isak’s likelihood of remaining a Newcastle United player beyond the deadline of Monday, September 1 increases with each passing day. Liverpool’s visit to St James’ Park this evening adds an additional dimension to the saga, and Fabrizio Romano is of the opinion that Isak’s future will be clarified in the coming days after the two sides have met on Tyneside.
Romano expressed his conviction that Isak could be reinstated into the squad after tonight’s match on his YouTube channel: “Alexander Isak.” Romano stated that the Monday match between Newcastle United and Liverpool will be a significant event, as it will conclude the story between the two clubs. Subsequently, on Tuesday, we will gain a more comprehensive understanding of the Alexander Isak situation, including whether he will be transferred to Liverpool or if Newcastle will be able to retain him.
“Newcastle internally anticipate that Alexander Isak will be able to reintegrate this week following the game.” Newcastle is sincerely optimistic about this.
“Newcastle internally have this feeling that they want to convince Alexander Isak to be back in training after the game on Monday. Liverpool remain on their position, they want Isak, they will attack for Isak, but it depends on Newcastle.
“This narrative, as I have informed you since July, is entirely contingent upon Newcastle.” Isak wants to go to Liverpool, Isak wants to play for Liverpool, Liverpool want to go for Isak and Liverpool are prepared to pay. But Newcastle are the ones who decide and Newcastle will do their best to keep the player.
“We will determine the nature of the week following the Monday game. However, Newcastle’s technical staff is optimistic that Alexander Isak will be able to resume training in the upcoming week, in anticipation of the transfer window.”
Newcastle United haven’t defeated Liverpool in a Premier League match since December 2015 but did triumph the last time these two sides met at Wembley back in March.
