You have to pay Manchester United €80 million to sign Morten Hjulmand and
Ruben Amorim, the manager of Sporting Lisbon, doesn’t want Morten Hjulmand to be sold because he thinks the player is too important to lose this summer.
The Dane has been linked to Manchester United because of how well he played in Portugal and how bad United’s middle is.
The last season for Casemiro was one of, if not the worst of his career. He has been mentioned with a move away from Old Trafford, most likely to Saudi Arabia.
Not much is known about Sofyan Amrabat’s future either. It looks like the player will be sent back to Fiorentina when his loan deal ends at the end of the month.
This leaves United’s defensive center very empty, and they have been linked with a move for the Dane.
In fact, June knows that the player is a top goal, and in a recent interview, he talked about how much he loves Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes and how he wants to play in the Premier League.
Correio da Manhã, a Portuguese newspaper, says that Rúben Amorim thinks Morten Hjulmand is “essential for the next season” and doesn’t want to lose the player, even though other teams are “intensely interested.”
The story says that Tottenham, Manchester United, and Barcelona are “in the lead” to sign the 24-year-old player. Tottenham and Manchester United will “count on” his desire to play in the Premier League to try to get him to move.
Sports, on the other hand, won’t move and supposedly won’t sell until his €80 million release clause is met.
This news is backed up by another interesting Portuguese paper, Record, which says they will not be open to talks and that anyone who wants to know more should look at the release clause.
It’s always possible that the player will want to move, or a good showing for Denmark in the Euros could make even more teams want to bid on him, which could make Sporting want to sell below the clause if they can still get a high price.
But United is also said to be interested in Joao Neves at Benfica, so they might have to decide which player they need more.
INEOS is also said to not let the club spend more than £60 million on a single player, which, if true, would make it hard to meet Hjulmand’s release clause.
