Sports co-commentator CBS Sports reveals the name of the Celtic FC players who made them to win against Chelsea in the pre-season match
Brendan Rodgers and his crew concluded an impressive two weeks in the United States with Celtic’s final leg of the US Tour.
The three-game winning pre-season excursion culminated in a 4-1 victory over Chelsea, during which Celtic allowed their football to speak for itself on the field and enhanced its reputation off it.
The Celtic Foundation contributed $10,000 to local charities at each tour stop, and the team increased the club’s visibility on the field by administering thrashings to Chelsea and DC United, as well as instructing Man City and their players.
However, it was Celtic’s victory over Chelsea that prompted Andy Townsend to speak poetic about Brendan Rodgers’ players. He identified five players who particularly impressed him during the victory over Enzo Maresca’s team.
Reo Hatate and four Celtic companions overwhelm Townsend
The comprehensive performance of Brendan Rodgers’ team against Chelsea was truly remarkable, and each player received a passing grade.
Townsend, a former Republic of Ireland international, was humiliated by Celtic in his match against the Premier League club, as five of his teammates were mentioned.
Townsend stated [talkSPORT], “It is a source of encouragement for them; it is a great opportunity for them.” It is always beneficial to have individuals score goals during the preseason, as it is a victory that can bolster their confidence and morale.
“They have a number of talented players.” I am fond of Kyogo [Furuhashi] and [Reo] Hatate. I believe that they are both exceptionally accomplished footballers. I genuinely do.
“Matt O’Riley is also a highly beneficial player.” It is evident that Kasper Schmeichel is currently present, which is intriguing. I anticipate that they will also appreciate him. Kasper’s distribution is typically exceptional.
“James Forrest is a player who has been with the team for a long time. He has always possessed a great deal of talent, and I frequently wondered if someone would attempt to steal him.”
“Nevertheless, he is still present and continues to engage in play.” It is evident that they will continue to be the team to beat in Scotland.
Despite the absence of summer signings, Celtic’s victories in all three matches have piqued the interest of the supporters in the upcoming season.
Brendan Rodgers has met with Michael Nicholson and intends to welcome new members of the team by the conclusion of August.
The Celtic supporters will be eager to observe the additions of new players by Rodgers, as the team has been performing exceptionally well with its current roster. The performance of the team on the US Tour indicates that Celtic will be exceedingly difficult to contain in the upcoming season.
