Stephen Craigan sends a brutal warning message to Rangers over the title race against Celtic F.C

Craigan: Rangers’ Title Hopes Fading Fast as Celtic Push for Fifth Straight Crown

Celtic have dominated Scottish football for the past 25 years, and that control shows little sign of slipping. With Brendan Rodgers’ side just two points behind Hearts in the Premiership, they remain on track for a fifth title in a row.

Rangers, however, continue to falter. Sitting eighth in the table and already seven points off Celtic, their season is quickly unravelling.

Speaking on BBC Radio Scotland, pundit Stephen Craigan stressed how tough the task is for Russell Martin to even get close to Rodgers’ side.

“In the last four seasons, the title winners have finished with 92, 93, 99 and 93 points. For Rangers to hit even 90, they’d need to win 28 of their remaining 33 games. That’s an enormous challenge. If results don’t improve soon, the league campaign is effectively a write-off.”

Celtic’s relentless consistency — never dipping below 90 points in recent years — makes them overwhelming favourites.

While Hearts may look like their nearest challengers, it’s doubtful they can sustain a season-long title fight. With greater resources and squad depth, Celtic still have the edge to pull clear as the season progresses.
